David is a design leader, teacher, and strategist with deep expertise in developing training solutions for teams and organizations worldwide. At companies such as frog, Lynda.com, and LinkedIn, he has led and coached dozens of large-scale product and service design teams, as well as helped to create training workshops and events for clients such as UNICEF, DARPA, and the World Economic Forum. A frequent writer and speaker in the design space, David is author of the design bestseller Creative Workshop: 80 Challenges to Sharpen Your Design Skills and Success by Design: The Essential Business Reference for Designers.
Mary Paynter Sherwin
Mary Paynter Sherwin is a seasoned writer, educator, and public speaking coach with expertise in helping individuals and schools develop rigorous curricula and activities for their learning needs. She has worked on multiple successful training programs and product innovation toolkits, such as Kaiser Permanente’s i60 Innovation Toolkit with Propelland and frog’s Collective Action Toolkit. With David, she is on the visiting faculty of Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design and California College of the Arts, and was formerly an adjunct professor at St. Mary’s College of California.
Some of the organizations we’ve worked with through frog have included AT&T, DARPA, GE Energy, GE Transportation, Girl Effect, JPMorgan Chase, Microsoft, Mozilla, Samsung of Korea, UNICEF, and Yodlee.
We’ve taught and spoken at many schools, including ArtCenter College of Design, California College of the Arts (founding BFA in IxD faculty), and Savannah College of Art and Design.
